10K Race

Start Time & Staging

Start Time is at 7:30am.  Runners are encouraged to make their way into the park for the start no later than 7:00am.

Start Location

The start is located in Civic Park East where the festival area is.  Runners will assemble in the grass.

Course Type

The course is an out and back course.

Pacers: No Pacers in this race

Timing

The Walnut Creek Half Marathon & 10K Race will be using the ”D-Tag” timing device that goes through the shoe laces. For more information and a tutorial video on how to use this, please see below. On the morning of the event, make sure that you have your D-tag in place.  Athletes will run over timing mats located throughout the race, recording their time as they pass several check points.

Tentative Course Map

 

Hydration & fruit stations, including GU will be located every two miles along the course.
An aid stations will be located in Walden Park.

10k Awards

Awards to the top three male and female finishers in the 10K will be handed out on the day of the race as well as age groups in the following categories:

 <18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80>
Each 10K finisher will receive a very cool custom die cast finishers medal for their achievement.
